Deadline Extended! 2016 Justice Innovation Awards

April 13, 2016

The 2nd Annual Justice Innovation Awards will take place during the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges' (NCJFCJ) 79th Annual Conference in Monterey, California at the Hyatt Regency Monterey, July 17-20, 2016.

During the conference, the NCJFCJ will recognize honorees who innovatively rethink, reimagine and redefine justice for children and families, thus advancing the NCJFCJ’s vision—a society in which every family and child has access to fair, equal, effective and timely justice.

The NCJFCJ Justice Innovation Awards will present the following two awards:

The Innovator of the Year Award

The Innovator of the Year Award will honor an active, in-good-standing NCJFCJ member who has inspired, sponsored, promoted, or led an innovation or accomplishment of national significance in juvenile justice, child abuse and neglect, family law, and/or domestic violence.

The Impact of the Year Award

The Impact of the Year Award will recognize, from the Annual Conference-host state (2016 - California), an individual, state/local court, law firm, advocacy group, or service provider who has been instrumental in leading or implementing significant improvements or innovations which advance the mission of the NCJFCJ in any of the following ways:
  • Practice improvements implemented state or jurisdiction-wide
  • State/local legislation or other regulatory improvements
  • Unique state/local court programs or services
  • Courtroom management and/or technology
  • Extraordinary efforts in pro bono work

Current NCJFCJ Board of Directors are not eligible for these awards. If an elected or appointed official, the nominee may not be a candidate for election, re-election or appointment during the cycle in which the award is given (i.e. July 2016-June 2017).
