October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October 1, 2015

Throughout October, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) and communities across the country will observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Activities in honor of victims and survivors of domestic violence will be as varied as the communities and individuals who organize them.
The NCJFCJ would like to observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month by challenging the public to learn more about children and youth exposed to domestic violence. To that end, the NCJFCJ has developed The Impact of Intimate Partner Violence: A Domestic Violence Awareness Fact Sheet, which highlights research findings on the prevalence, impact, lethality and resiliency factors, and effective interventions in domestic violence.
