Advancement Project

Advancement Project was created to develop and inspire community-based solutions based on the same high quality legal analysis and public education campaigns that produced the landmark civil rights victories of earlier eras. For the past 10 years, Advancement Project has focused on the use and devastating effects of harsh school discipline policies and practices and the increased role of law enforcement in public schools. Advancement Project works at both the national level and on the ground with our community partners to examine, expose, and reform practices that lead to the criminalization of students.
