Assessing the Quality of Child Interviews

August 11, 2016

Dr. Lyon will discuss how one can evaluate child interviews, both from the perspective of the interviewer and the child. For example, did the interviewer use the kinds of techniques that are known to increase productivity and minimize suggestibility? Did the child provide the types of information that one should expect from a child their age? He will also share clips of actual interviews and discuss research on child interviews. The information presented will focus on child abuse/neglect and domestic violence cases.
