Campus Police/ Probation Teams (PPT) closely monitor and supervise juvenile probationers within designated schools. The program also is actively involved in developing and operating a spectrum of intervention and/or diversion programs. Other programs of interest: pre-disposition EM and Juvenile Traffic Court. Take a minute at look at the proposed Fresno County Juvenile Justice Campus too. Based on a master plan, the campus will encompass at one location all the functions and services required of a juvenile justice system. I find first offender programs particularly interesting and there are some here that caught my attention: - Drawing Assignment – Designed for young or low functioning juveniles. A series of 12 assignments to be done within a specific period of time. Helpful to the probation officer.
- Offense Booklet - a series of seven essays in which the juvenile examines the consequences of his or her actions.
- Straight Talk – firesetter prevention program. Parent attendance mandatory.
- Sylvan Learning Center – Assistance for juveniles with problems in reading and math. The juvenile is eligible to receive up to 96 hours of specialized tutoring and instruction at no cost to the juvenile or to the family.
