Goals and Objectives |

- Develop and promote peer-to-peer education, with the assistance of other professionals, to increase the numbers of judicial officers nationwide who understand and resolve effectively court cases involving domestic violence and stalking.
- Incorporate a wide variety of educational delivery methods, including live programs, seminars, and discussion groups of varying length and location, distance learning activities, and written and electronic publications, to reach judges and judicial officers nationwide with various levels of experience in cases involving domestic violence.
- Build a diverse pool of faculty, including trial court judges and judicial officers, presiding or chief judges, advocates, attorneys, mental health experts, and social scientists, who can promote greater education about domestic violence, develop strategies to enhance this court assignment while avoiding judicial burnout, and foster partnerships with other legal system participants working to end domestic violence.
- Create a broad forum for discussion from divergent points of view to advance the thinking about effective responses to domestic violence, assist the courts in assessing their performance, and establish a repository of applied research about best practices.
- Foster discussion, education, and problem-solving with legislators and other policy makers, advocates, mental health experts, social scientists, academics, and the media to develop new tools for intervening in and preventing domestic violence.
