CASA/GAL RESOURCES FOR JUDGES

The importance of CASA/GAL programs for dependent children in our nation’s juvenile courts can not be over-estimated. Court Appointed Special Advocates are trained volunteers who establish relationships with children under court jurisdiction and then bring invaluable information about each child to the court.  Judicial decisions and outcomes for children are better because of CASA/GAL input.

There are valuable resources for judges and others, for free, on the web.  First, and perhaps most important, is the 14 minute DVD that was created for judges and CASA/GAL programs.  Featuring judges, volunteers and others from across the country, this DVD is available for viewing on the Judges' Corner Resource Center.

Also on the Judges Page website are written materials describing how judges can work with CASA/GAL programs and articles by national experts addressing numerous critical issues that face juvenile court judges every day. 

Please review the wealth of resources and information available on the Judges Page website to spread the word about CASA/GAL programs and help start programs where none currently exist.
