9/6/07 -- Methamphetamine, mental health, juvenile sex offenders, teen courts, gangs, and girls in the juvenile justice system will be among the issues discussed at NCJFCJ's 26th Annual Juvenile Probation and Justice Management Conference to be held September 9-12, 2007 at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town in Albuquerque, N.M. Approximately 200 juvenile justice professionals from around the country, including juvenile probation officers, court administrators, detention workers, and others in the juvenile justice field are expected at the conference to hear national experts present plenary and workshop sessions on a wide variety of juvenile justice issues affecting troubled and at-risk youth and their families. New Mexico Lieutenant Governor Diane Denish will be among those welcoming the participants at the Monday morning opening session at 8:30 a.m. In addition, area dignitaries, including Judge Barbara Vigil, Children’s Court Judge, Santa Fe, Chief Judge Paul Tsosie, Santa Clara Pueblo Court, Espanola, NM; Judge John Romero, 2nd District Court, Albuquerque; Judge Albert Banteah, Zuni Tribal Court, Zuni Pueblo, NM; Judge Geraldine Benally, Navajo Tribal Court, Chinle, AZ; and Joseph Michael Chavarra, Governor of the Santa Clara Pueblo, Espanola, NM, will welcome the participants and serve as faculty during the conference.
