Judge R. Michael Key Installed as NCJFCJ President for 2010-11 Print E-mail

Image7/22/10 -- Judge R. Michael Key of LaGrange, Georgia, was installed as President of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges on July 20, 2010, during the organization’s 73rd Annual Conference in San Diego, California.

Judge Key has served on the Juvenile Court bench in Troup County, Georgia, since 1989, and is a partner in the law firm of Key & Gordy, P.C.  A graduate of Emory University School of Law, Judge Key served in the U.S. Air Force from 1971-1975.
 
Judge Key is a Past President of the Georgia Council of Juvenile Court Judges, has served on the Committee on Justice for Children (Georgia’s Court Improvement Project) for more than 15 years, is a lead judge in the Georgia Court Improvement Initiative, and is a frequent presenter in state and national programs. He has twice received the Georgia Council of Juvenile Court Judges President’s Award, and was presented the Child Advocate of the Year Award-Judges Division in 2005 by the Juvenile Law Section of the Young Lawyer Division of the Georgia State Bar Association. Judge Key is a member of the Georgia Child Support Guidelines Commission and serves as Chair of the Georgia Commission on Family Violence.
