A variety of timely, interesting, and informative publications.
As a member, you will regularly receive the quarterly Juvenile and Family Court Journal, the monthly Juvenile and Family Law Digest, and the quarterly Juvenile and Family Justice Today magazine, with the latest news on important cases and analyses of current issues.
Educational programs addressing both the issues making headlines today and the enduring issues associated with the nation’s juvenile and family courts.
Our training programs and conferences are unparalleled for their valuable, cutting-edge material and distinguished faculty, covering such topics as family violence, child abuse and neglect, foster care drift, permanency planning, adoption, delinquency, domestic relations, juvenile probation, juvenile drug courts, substance abuse, unified family courts, and many others. Experts in a variety of disciplines pertinent to juvenile and family issues, as well as judge members trained as judicial educators, are among the instructors for these programs, conducted around the country and at our headquarters on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno.
Resources and technical assistance to address your questions and concerns, from information and publications to contacts with jurisdictions engaged in efforts in which you have an interest. We provide in-depth technical assistance on the myriad issues facing our nation’s juvenile and family courts in the form of publications, statistics, hands-on assistance, and experts in the field. The Council’s research division, the National Center for Juvenile Justice, is the country’s only non-profit research organization focused solely on the juvenile justice system, and its research is relied upon by federal, state, and local organizations around the country for its quality research and technical assistance. If we can’t answer your question, we can find out who can!
Collegiality
Justice can be a lonely business. The opportunity for you to meet with colleagues from around the country, to exchange ideas, and to make new friends is one of our greatest assets. You don’t have to be a judge to join the National Council and gain the benefits of membership—many affiliated professionals are among our long-time members.
We welcome you to join our efforts!
