Judge Dale Koch Installed as NCJFCJ President |

7/21/06 -- Judge Dale R. Koch, Presiding Judge of the Multnomah County Circuit Court in Portland, Ore., was installed as President of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges during the organization’s annual conference held July 16-19, 2006 in Milwaukee, Wis. A graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law (and 1964 graduate of Springfield [Ore.] High School), Judge Koch was appointed to the bench in 1992. He was in private practice from 1976 to 1992, and served as Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney from 1972 to 1976. While assigned to the Circuit Court bench, Judge Koch served as a Model Court Lead Judge in the NCJFCJ’s Child Victims Act Model Courts Initiative. Judge Koch was first elected to NCJFCJ’s Board of Trustees in 1998 and has served as an officer since 2003. He was elected in 2005 to the Board of Directors of the National Center for State Courts. He is co-chair of the National Judicial Institute on Domestic Violence Advisory Committee and a past chair of the Oregon State Family Law Advisory Committee and the Judicial Conference Family and Juvenile Law Committee. A frequent faculty member in Oregon and around the country on domestic violence and child abuse and neglect issues, Judge Koch was honored in 2000 by the Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court with the Juvenile Court Champion award.
