Management Development Institute:
The Leadership and Management of Organizations program is designed to improve the management of juvenile justice agencies. The participants’ understanding of organizations as socio-technical systems is expanded through the presentation of a “Six-Box Organizational Model.” Highlights of the program include individualized feedback about leadership and management styles, and the opportunity for participants to diagnose their own organizations and identify needed changes.  The Leadership and Management of Organizations program offers an excellent opportunity to network and learn with other court administrators and supervisors from around the country. Upon completion of the program, juvenile justice practitioners will be better prepared to make informed managerial and supervisory decisions helping juvenile courts run more effectively.  (This is a closed course which begins Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and concludes Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. If you elect to attend, you must remain in this course only. A completed course counts toward Professional Juvenile Justice Administrator Certification.)

Juvenile Probation in the Courts:
Dispositional Alternatives and Mental Health Issues in Juvenile Justice:
The practice of Juvenile Probation becomes increasingly complex. In recognition of the crucial role Juvenile Probation Officers (JPOs) play, NCJFCJ offers this conference to provide current training in best practice for JPOs in areas such as dispositional alternatives, mental health, and the essentials of juvenile probation.
Case Management of Juvenile Sex Offenders:
Juvenile Probation Officers, whether they have specialized caseloads or working in a rural area with a general caseload, are called to manage these difficult and challenging cases. This track will focus on successfully navigating the process of balancing the court, community, victim, and offender. This will also include discussion on the impact of the Adam Walsh bill.
