National Multidisciplinary Institute on Child Sex Trafficking

The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) has opened registration for the National Multidisciplinary Institute on Child Sex Trafficking (NMICST) which will take place in Reno/Sparks, NV on August 19-21, 2024 (2.5 days). This interactive training uses hypothetical case scenarios, small group discussion, and “mini” lectures to provide new and experienced court teams with the tools they need to develop or enhance their ability to identify children who are being trafficked or are at risk for victimization. Participating teams will also learn effective intervention strategies that respond to the individualized needs of each victim and a stronger sense of their court and community roles to help prevent and end child sex trafficking.

There is no registration fee for this Institute. The NCJFCJ is pleased to provide scholarships to support travel expenses for up to 7 court teams to participate in this training. The NCJFCJ is requiring the participating court teams to be comprised of:
- Judicial Officer
- Juvenile Prosecutor -or- Juvenile Defense Attorney
- Youth Probation Officer -or- Youth Social/Case Worker -or- Victim Advocate
- Community provider -or- other team member of the court team’s choice
