Supporting the Transformation of Juvenile Probation: A New Toolkit for Judges

Date: July 29, 2021

Time: 9:00 a.m. PST | 12:00 p.m. EST

This webinar will introduce a new online Toolkit, The Role of the Judge in Transforming Juvenile Probation: A Toolkit for Leadership. The Toolkit has been designed to help juvenile court judges make probation-related decisions so that probation is used as a time-limited disposition that focuses on individualized, goal-oriented supervision, supports, and incentives to facilitate behavior change. The Toolkit also provides resources to help judges promote race equity for justice system-involved youth. Webinar faculty will walk participants through the Toolkit and highlight the various features that make the Toolkit practical and user-friendly to implement key probation transformation practices. Faculty will also share their experiences with implementing practice changes described in the Toolkit in their jurisdictions. While primarily intended for judges, the webinar is open to all who are involved in probation administration or who work with youth receiving probation supervision and services.

Faculty:

Judge Denise Navarre Cubbon

Judge Sheila Calloway

Judge Geoffrey GaitherĀ
