The National Conference on Juvenile Justice is back on the calendar for the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges!

Join us in Las Vegas, Nevada as we bring back this vital and important educational opportunity featuring cutting edge information, state-of-the-art programs and current research in the juvenile justice system. Some of the featured topics will include: alternatives to detention, trauma-informed justice, cross-over youth, deep-end youth, dating violence, ending solitary confinement, recidivism, indiscriminate shackling issues, disproportionate minority contact, LGBTQ issues in the juvenile justice system, sex trafficking of minors, juvenile drug courts and runaways and the Interstate Compact for Juveniles.

This conference will feature an amazing assembly of faculty presenters.

The 21st Century Juvenile Justice Practitioner
Join In collaboration with the National Juvenile Court Services Association (NJCSA), a special one-day educational opportunity will be available for mid-level probation officers and aspiring new front-line supervisors.
Topics include: management and practice issues, effective case planning, culturally competent practice, and data driven decision making.

Who should attend

This conference is designed for a wide range of disciplines and open to all those interested in the improvement of the juvenile justice system. In order to effect real system change, all voices involved in the system should be present. A special series of sessions for juvenile probation officers is being developed; additional information will be made available at a later date.

Cancellation Policy: The NCJFCJ will not deny admission to any program because of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, disability or religion. The NCJFCJ reserves the right to limit, cancel and/or refund registration on a case-by-case basis should circumstances require. Cancellations for conference registration must be made in writing and be made prior to February 19, 2016 to receive a full refund. Cancellations received after February 19 will incur a $100 administrative fee. No cancellations for refund will be accepted after the start of the conference.

Hotel information

The MGM Grand will serve as the conference hotel for the 2016 National Conference on Juvenile Justice. It is located at 3799 South Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada. Single and double accommodations are available at a rate of $139 per night inclusive of resort fee ($29), plus current Clark County room tax of 12%, which will be added to each room’s account upon check-in.

Travel information

McCarran International is the closest and main airport for Las Vegas. It is approximately 2.1 miles or approximately 6 minutes from MGM Grand. Taxis or shuttles are readily available and recommended means of transportation to/from the airport.
