In 2024, the NCJFCJ’s work impacted approximately 4 million families across the nation. Our publications amassed over 94,000 views, the team fulfilled over 150 requests for technical assistance, and trained over 15,000 judges, judicial officers, attorneys, and other juvenile and family-court related professionals across the nation.

The NCJFCJ held our annual Lead Judges All Sites conference in Anaheim to bring together over 25 Implementation Sites and Model Tribal Court Sites.

As part of the Implementation Sites Project, the NCJFCJ provides targeted training and technical assistance, and site visits, to the Orange County Superior Court to improve practice in the handling of child abuse and neglect cases, reduce the number of children in foster care, and improve outcomes for children in care.

The San Jose Mentor Child Abuse and Neglect Model Court and the Los Angeles Child Abuse and Neglect Model Court are recognized for their efforts to improve outcomes for abused and neglected children and their families.

The California Dependency Attorneys for Parents hosted a one-day event in 2024 for parents’ attorneys in California Dependency proceedings, where the NCJFCJ shared its Reasonable Efforts book.

The NCJFCJ hosted a national training event in Valencia for its Judicial Education Development Initiative on Domestic Violence (JEDI-DV): the National Judicial Institute on Domestic Violence’s (NJIDV) Continuing Judicial Skills (CJS) Workshop with two topic-specific workshops on immigration, parenting time and domestic violence, cyberviolence, and civil and criminal compliance in domestic violence cases.

The NCJFCJ’s Field-Generated Strategies to End the Criminalization of Minor Victims of Sex Trafficking project, funded by the Office for Victims of Crime, provides direct training and technical assistance to Sacramento County’s Consultation, Support, and Engagement Team.

A judge from California attended the NCJFCJ’s National Judicial Institute on Domestic Violence (NJIDV) 25th Anniversary Enhancing Judicial Skills in Domestic Violence Cases (EJS) workshop.
