The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) recently updated its guidelines to call for alternatives to detention of youth offenders.

The Enhanced Juvenile Justice Guidelines focus on the importances of representation for youth in the juvenile justice system. It also includes rulings regarding youth and life imprisonment, the death penalty and solitary confinement and advances in science.
