Better Together: A Behavioral Health Services Mapping Guide for Courts and Military Installations

Download Publication

The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) has created this Behavioral Health Services Mapping Guide for Courts and Military Installations in an effort to bridge the gap between the military system, the civilian justice system, and behavioral health service providers regarding the behavioral health needs of military-connected families. As used in this guide, the term “military-connected families” refers to families that include service members, military spouses, military children, military dependents, military caregivers, and cohabitating partners of military service members.

The guide is intended to bring together individuals from various systems to learn about and map out the behavioral health services available to service members and their families in their respective jurisdictions. It is hoped that engaging in resource mapping and developing and maintaining cross-system communication and collaboration will help increase support that military-connected families need and deserve and decrease barriers that undermine their ability to benefit from this support.
