This Bulletin presents an overview of statistics on juveniles as victims of crime and maltreatment. Juveniles are twice as likely as adults to be victims of serious violent crime and that children with a history of maltreatment are at increased risk for delinquency. The document also examines recent trends in violent crime against children and youth (murder, assault, and sexual assault).
