Making Reasonable Efforts Findings in a Pandemic

Webcasts / Webinar / Making Reasonable Efforts Findings in a Pandemic

This webinar, taught by NCJFCJ Past President Judge R. Michael Key, will assist juvenile and family courts in understanding the importance of examining reasonable efforts during the current pandemic. The webinar will cover why a “no reasonable efforts finding” can be controversial, but very important given the current climate. Finally, with the return to schools and daycares, the webinar will discuss how to prepare for a potential increase in cases and how reasonable efforts findings fit in.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will learn how the lack of available services during the pandemic may impact reasonable efforts finding and what to do when this happens.
  2. Participants will learn how and why to make no reasonable efforts findings if necessary.
  3. Participants will learn how to incorporate stakeholders into planning for an increase in cases.
