This webinar, taught by Emily Lewis, an attorney with the Animal Legal Defense Fund, Dr. Catherine Miller, a professor with the School of Graduate Psychology (SGP), Pacific University, Hillsboro, OR, and Kathleen Wood, an attorney with the Animal Legal Defense Fund, will familiarize judges, child welfare and social service professionals with the research on animal hoarding, the characteristics of individuals who engage in animal hoarding., and the deleterious impacts of animal hoarding on the emotional and physical health of family members. The faculty will describe the challenges of engaging animal hoarders in services and interventions as well as considerations for safeguarding family members.
