The National Judicial Institute on Domestic Violence (NJIDV), presented by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and Futures Without Violence, is offering an opportunity for judicial officers to attend the Enhancing Judicial Skills in Domestic Violence Cases (EJS) Workshop. The EJS workshop is a highly interactive, 3-day workshop that will address domestic violence topics using hypothetical case problems, role-play exercises, small group discussions, and faculty demonstrations. This format enables judges from different jurisdictions and levels of experience to learn from one another.

At the conclusions of this workshop, attendees will have a better understanding on the following topics:

Victim and Perpetrator Behavior
Fact-Finding
Access to Justice and the Judge’s Role in Community Response to DV
Fairness and Recognizing Individual and Community-Based Realities in DV Cases; and
Decision-Making Skills and Enforcement
