In 2024, the NCJFCJ’s work impacted approximately 4 million families across the nation. Our publications amassed over 94,000 views, the team fulfilled over 150 requests for technical assistance, and trained over 15,000 judges, judicial officers, attorneys, and other juvenile and family-court related professionals across the nation.
The NCJFCJ team presented at the State of Idaho Judicial Branch’s Children and Families Institute in Boise. Presentation topics included child protection and domestic violence: identifying effective and specialized responses to enhance safety for victims and families; and rethinking safety and privacy in remote proceedings.
A judicial system professional from Idaho attended the NCJFCJ’s Judicial Engagement Network (JEN) Leadership in Practice Summit. The Summit focused on highlighting strategies currently implemented by jurisdictions to promote, implement, and sustain positive systemic changes that improve court and community responses to intimate partner violence in civil and criminal settings.
The NCJFCJ provided information about its Indian Child Welfare Act Judicial Benchbook.
An Idaho judicial system professional attended the Enhancing Judicial Skills in Domestic Violence Cases (EJS) workshop. Participants engaged in practical courtroom exercises and learned about victim and perpetrator behavior and fairness and culture issues in domestic violence cases.
Judges and justice system professionals from Idaho received specialized child welfare, domestic violence, and juvenile justice training on current and cutting-edge topics and research during the NCJFCJ’s Annual Conference and National Conference on Juvenile Justice.
The NCJFCJ’s Judicial Education Development Initiative on Domestic Violence (JEDIDV) provided state-specific judicial education on enhancing judicial and community responses in domestic violence cases to Idaho judicial officers
