In Montgomery County, Ohio, the opioid crisis has had a devastating effect. Judge Anthony Capizzi,  president of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, says that there has also been a dramatic increase in the number of children in foster care who have become addicted to opioids.

However, the opioid crisis is affecting Americans across the country regardless of age, including babies. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the rate of babies born addicted to opioids increased by 400 percent from 2000 to 2012.
