Recently, Milwaukee city officials unveiled The Family Read, Play & Learn space in the Vel R. Phillips Juvenile Justice Center.

This designated space for children is a part of a broader effort across the country to improve the educational outcomes of, primarily, low-income children and children of color in the courts.

The space was inaugurated by former first-daughter Chelsea Clinton, who is championing similar spaces across the country with the Clinton Foundation’s Too Small to Fail initiative.
