The Imprint, Analysis of Emergency Removals

The Imprint reported that most children are taken into foster care through “emergency” removals before parents receive a court hearing, despite federal law and due-process protections. This practice is widespread, often used when immediate danger isn’t clear, and can cause unnecessary trauma for families.
