This is the first part of a two-part series briefly highlighting state provisions allowing children to testify via videotape or closed-circuit television. All jurisdictions have some procedures to allow children to testify outside the courtroom. States vary in the oldest age at which they permit such testimony. An accompanying map illustrates the distribution of this age provision around the country.
