  • In 2016, anĀ estimated 676,000 children were victims of abuse and neglect
  • Every year, more than 5 million children witness domestic violence in their homes
  • It is estimated the long-term costs is $8 to $21 billion each year for the confinement of youth
  • Appropriate $4 million - OJJDP Child Abuse Training Project for Judicial Personnel and Practitioners
  • Reauthorize the Court Improvement Program, the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, and the Violence Against Women Act
  • Appropriate $17 million - OVW Grants to Support Families in the Justice System
  • Continue support for Office of Justice Programs (DOJ) and Administration for Children and Families (HHS)
  • A Competent, well-trained judiciary improving outcomes for children and families and keeping communities safe
  • Collaborative, data-driven, and cost-saving reforms that improve efficiency
