The 8th Annual Justice Innovation Awards will take place during the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges’ (NCJFCJ) 85th Annual Conference in Reno, Nevada at the Nugget Casino Resort, July 17-20, 2022.
During the conference, the NCJFCJ will recognize honorees who innovatively rethink, reimagine and redefine justice for children and families, thus advancing the NCJFCJ’s vision—a society in which every family and child has access to fair, equal, effective, and timely justice.
The NCJFCJ Justice Innovation Awards will present the following two awards:
The Innovator of the Year Award
The Innovator of the Year Award will honor an active, in-good-standing NCJFCJ member who has inspired, sponsored, promoted, or led an innovation or accomplishment of national significance in juvenile justice, family law, child abuse, and neglect, and/or domestic violence.

The Impact of the Year Award
The Impact of the Year Award will recognize, from the Annual Conference-host state (2022 – Nevada), an individual, state/local court, law firm, advocacy group, or service provider who has been instrumental in leading or implementing significant improvements or innovations which advance the mission of the NCJFCJ in any of the following ways:
- Practice improvements implemented state or jurisdiction-wide
- State/local legislation or other regulatory improvements
- Unique state/local court programs or services
- Courtroom management and/or technology
- Extraordinary efforts in pro bono work

Current NCJFCJ Board of Directors is not eligible for these awards. If an elected or appointed official, the nominee may not be a candidate for election, re-election, or appointment during the cycle in which the award is given (i.e. May 2021-July 2022).
